What:
The Jewish Council of Australia will make a submission to the first hearing of the NSW Legislative Council’s Portfolio Committee No. 5 inquiry into antisemitism in New South Wales.
The hearing will receive submissions from groups and individuals relating to the prevalence of antisemitic incidents in New South Wales, antisemitism on university campuses, and the threat to social cohesion presented by antisemitism.
Who:
The Jewish Council’s submission will be made by two executive members: dual Israel-Australian citizen
Dr Na’ama Carlin, an academic and sociologist researching in the areas of religion, violence, and health; and Dr Michael Edwards, an academic and anthropologist of religion, politics, and media.
Why:
The Jewish Council executives will present as per the Jewish Council’s written submission to the antisemitism inquiry.
