The Jewish Council has been granted leave to appear in the first block of the Royal Commission hearings starting next week. We’ve briefed a legal team to ensure the Commission hears from progressive Jews who both fight against antisemitism AND advocate for Palestinian freedom and justice. But we can’t currently afford this ongoing legal support.
Pro-Israel organisations who receive huge amounts of public funding have already formed a conglomerate and briefed a large team of barristers. By contrast, the Jewish Council’s work is entirely funded through donations from our supporters.
Hearings begin on Monday and we need to raise $127,000. Can you take two minutes to make a contribution to help cover the Council’s legal fees to engage with the Royal Commission?

The Jewish Council of Australia is an ACNC-registered charity and all donations are tax-deductible. If we are able to raise enough money to cover our legal costs, any extra funds will be invested in further Royal Commission engagement and the ongoing work of the Council.
